Agilia are proud sponsors of Uni Slam, who provide a platform for young people and emerging artists to share their stories on a national scale, providing training and development opportunities for writers to grow their skills, confidence and careers.
We were honoured to be invited to one of London’s leading book stores to celebrate the 25th anniversary of National Poetry Day.
Amar Qureshi is pictured standing alongside legendary singer and broadcaster Cerys Matthews MBE, who curated the book ‘tell me the truth about life’. Following the event, Amar reflected:
“The power of poetry is that it is whatever you make of it.
Having the confidence to communicate and present one’s self connects you to others.
It’s important to both myself and Agilia, that we support young people and provide them with opportunities before entering the workplace to facilitate personal development.”
We will leave you with this incredibly inspiring, heartfelt and moving video of Patience Kanj reading ‘Hold Your Breath’ at this years Uni Slam in Manchester.
