Agilia secures significant investment from GCP

Agilia Infrastructure Partners is pleased to announce a significant investment from Growth Capital Partners (GCP).

GCP’s investment will be alongside Agilia’s Co-Founders, Mike Pugsley and Amar Qureshi, as well as Agilia employees, maintaining the crucial alignment within the business that has driven its success to date.

GCP’s investment also bolsters Agilia’s board with the appointment of Ravi Monteiro, Partner, GCP and Jay Salter, Investment Director GCP, working alongside Julia Pyke, Executive Chair and Mike and Amar, Co-Founders and Joint CEOs.

Mike Pugsley and Amar Qureshi, Co-CEO, Agilia Infrastructure Partners, commented:

“We are delighted to be partnering with GCP. We built Agilia around the belief that clients require a partner who has the experience of having genuinely done the job and is committed to transmitting that to meeting client needs. From our first conversations, it was clear GCP shares that same practical, partnership-led, quality-focused approach. This partnership gives us the strategic support and network to continue to build on our foundation, investing in our people, building our capability even further and continuing to deliver for our clients across Energy, Water, Transport and Defence as we take Agilia into its next phase of sustainable growth.”

Jay Salter, Investment Director, GCP, commented:

“We've been really impressed by the calibre of the Agilia team and the strength of the relationships they've built across the infrastructure sector. Mike and Amar have built a genuinely differentiated position in the infrastructure advisory market, and we're looking forward to working closely with them and the team as they accelerate their growth plans.”

Agilia’s partnership with GCP will support its next phase of development by continuing its excellent quality-led growth across key infrastructure sectors, with further investment in its talented team.

With first-hand experience of many of the UK's most complex mega projects, such as Thames Tideway Tunnel and Sizewell C, Agilia occupies a differentiated market position as a trusted partner for major infrastructure developers.

It is currently advising on projects with a capital value of over £100 billion across key economic infrastructure sectors including Water, Energy, Defence and Transport.

GCP has a proven track record of successfully building genuine investment partnerships with founders in ambitious, highly specialist businesses that power the Knowledge Economy

Ravi Monteiro, Partner, GCP, commented:

“Agilia is a fantastic example of the specialist, people-driven businesses we look to back, and we're delighted this is the third investment from GCP's Fund VI. Businesses that can demonstrate genuine subject matter expertise and a human premium, rooted in deep, hands-on experience and the trust of their clients, will continue to be a growth engine of the UK economy, and Agilia has that in spades. We look forward to partnering with Mike, Amar, Julia and the team as they build on that platform.”

Julia Pyke, CBE, Agilia’s Executive Chair commented:

“I am confident that GCP will be a great partner for Agilia. They are committed to people businesses which resonates with what we do on a daily basis – serve people, communities and the wider economy in delivering vital infrastructure to the nation.”
